Let go of your worries
and be completely clear-hearted,
like the face of a mirror
that contains no images.
If you want a clear mirror,
behold yourself
and see the shameless truth,
which the mirror reflects.
If metal can be polished
to a mirror-like finish,
what polishing might the mirror
of the heart require?
“ Rumi”
This work transforms an ordinary wool coat into a poetic threshold, embedding a mirror within the fabric so that the surrounding landscape enters the body. The reflective opening suggests that clarity is not found in external appearances but within the heart, polished like Rumi’s mirror.
The wearer becomes both frame and vessel — the coat carries a fragment of the sky, the mountains, and the earth. It is an invitation to let go of burdens and encounter the truth of the self as reflection.
By merging garment, mirror, and horizon, this piece blurs boundaries between the human figure and nature, evoking Rumi’s timeless question: if metal can be polished to reflect light, what might it take to polish the mirror of the heart?
