Apotheosis

In “Apotheosis”, performed during my one-day solo exhibition at East Gallery in Tehran, I lay motionless on the gallery floor for an hour, surrounded by visitors who were invited to light candles around my body. A projection of fire blazed on the wall behind me, casting flickering light across the space.

The performance unfolded as a quiet ritual. The growing circle of flames transformed the space into a site of reflection — a place where presence, vulnerability, and transcendence converged. The act of being surrounded by light became both an offering and a trial, a slow ascent toward purification.
