The Magic of Reflection

On the longest day of the year, Istanbul Airport’s Runway Studio became a canvas for light, sound, and reflection. Commissioned by Istanbul Airport for World Music Day 2023, I designed the stage environment for “Magic of Reflection”—a site-specific installation art that transformed the airport’s runway into an immersive performance space.

The project featured two performances choreographed around the day’s extremes of light: electronic musician Elif at 5:32 AM for “After Sunrise,” and DJ Deer Jade at 8:41 PM for “Before Sunset.” My stage design created a dialogue between the performers, the expansive airport landscape, and the shifting qualities of natural light—exploring themes of transformation and temporal passage that are central to my practice.
